Split the bill. Settle in one tap.
Baant keeps shared money straight for trips, flats and friends, in any of 155 currencies. Add an expense in seconds, see who owes whom, and settle with UPI in as few payments as possible.
Free, with no sign-up and no daily limit. Your groups stay on your device and work offline.
Try a split
Change anything. The numbers update as you type.
- Rahul pays Deepak₹816.67
- Amit pays Deepak₹816.66
- Deepak’s own share₹816.67
₹2,450.00 does not divide evenly, so some shares are one paisa higher. Baant spreads the extra fairly and the shares always add up to the bill.
Add, calculate, simplify, settle.
Everything in Baant serves those four steps. The rest stays out of the way.
Add
Type the amount, pick who paid and who shared. Any currency, any split: equal, exact, percentages, shares, adjustments or item by item.
Calculate
Every share is worked out in whole paise and adds up to the bill. Foreign spending is converted at the rate of the day you spent it.
Simplify
Baant nets everything out and finds the fewest payments, or the fewest that cross a border when friends live in different countries.
Settle
Pay with UPI from a QR code or a link with the amount filled in. The person paid confirms, and the payment is recorded for good.
Five friends, five currencies, four payments.
Deepak, Rahul and Amit live in India, John in the UK and Sarah in the US. On one trip they spent ₹1,51,040.00 in rupees, dollars, euros, pounds and baht. Paying back every debt as it happened would take 10 transfers. Baant needs 4.
- John pays AmitUK to India₹12,660.59
- John pays SarahUK to USA₹109.80
- Rahul pays Deepak₹10,193.87
- Amit pays Deepak₹828.77
2 payments cross a border. Every balance clears to the paisa.
The rate is frozen the day you spend.
Every foreign expense keeps its original amount, the rate used, where that rate came from and its date. When the rupee moves later, your old expenses stay exactly as they were.
- 155 currencies, with each one’s own decimals (yen has none, dinars have three)
- Use the amount your card was charged, so the rate matches your bank statement
- Set one trip rate for the whole holiday, or type the rate you got at the counter
- Offline, Baant uses the last rate it saw and marks it to confirm later
Museum and train tickets
€400.00
- Rate used
- 1 EUR = ₹103
- Where it came from
- Reference rate for 9 Sep 2026
- In the group’s rupees
- ₹41,200.00
If the euro moves to ₹105.10 next month
₹42,040.00
This expense still reads ₹41,200.00
Pay with UPI. Confirm both ways.
On a phone, Baant opens Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM or any UPI app with the amount and a note filled in. On a computer, scan the QR code with your phone.
- Nothing is marked paid just because a UPI app opened. You say it went through, they confirm it arrived
- Send reminders and payment requests to WhatsApp without giving Baant access to your chats
- Paying someone abroad? Record it in their currency at the rate you agreed
- Pay part now and the rest later: balances keep track of what is still open
Rahul pays Deepak
₹10,193.87
Scan with any UPI app. Amount and note are filled in.
Demo UPI ID deepak@demo: it cannot receive money.
You owe Deepak ₹10,193.87 for Europe trip (example). Pay via UPI to deepak@demo
- Initiated Rahul opens their UPI app
- Pending confirmation Rahul says it went through
- Completed Deepak confirms the money arrived
Split the dinner bill item by item.
Tick who had what. GST, service charge and tip follow each person’s share, or go to the people you choose. Baant checks that the lines add up to the bill before you save.
- Scan a photo of the bill to fill in the items, then check them
- Prices with or without tax included, discounts and round-off
- Shared items split between the people who had them
The bill on the right is the sample trip’s dinner: US$250.00, paid by Rahul.

Questions people ask first
Is Baant really free?
Yes. Groups, expenses, every way of splitting, all currencies, UPI hand-offs, offline use, reports and exports are free, with no daily limit and no ads.
Do my friends need to install anything?
No. You can add anyone by name. Share a payment request or a summary on WhatsApp, and they can pay from any UPI app without opening Baant.
Where is my data kept?
In your own browser or phone. Baant has no account and no server copy of your groups yet, so back up under Import and export and move groups between devices with a backup file or a share link.
What exchange rate does Baant use?
The one you choose: a trip rate the group agrees, the amount your card was actually charged, a rate you type, or the European Central Bank reference rate for the date. Once saved, it never changes on its own.
Does Baant move money?
No. Baant opens your UPI app with the amount and note filled in, then asks you whether the payment went through. The person you paid confirms it. Baant never sees your UPI PIN or bank details.
Can I bring my groups from Splitwise?
Yes. Export a group from Splitwise as a spreadsheet (CSV) and import it in Baant under Import and export. Dates, amounts, currencies and who paid are kept.
